As a Braves fan, I will add this immortal rhyme: "Spahn and Sain and pray
for rain." This would have haunted Twain (to continue the rhyme)--perhaps
more than "Punch, Brothers, Punch." Braves fans know all about being
haunted.
A good Mark Twain Circle session this morning at MLA on Twain and Politics
(other than the first paper, which was an egregious waste of time). Another
session on Sunday morning.

Larry -- wow that was a Freudian slip -- oddly, of course being the real
deal Cardinal fan, my mind was trying to say Stan Musial but for whatever
reason early this morning I wrote Spahn. go figure.
