Bio abstract:
Terry Cook had a long career as a government-records archivist at the
National Archives of Canada, from 1975 to 1998, as executive director
responsible for the program for the appraisal and disposition of records in
all recording media for Government of Canada and guided this program to
internal success.
Very active in professional life and exploring archival ideas, Cook has
presented lectures, workshops, and seminars on electronic records, archival
ethics, and especially macroappraisal across Canada and around the world.
He has been the General Editor of Archivaria (1982-84), Co-Editor of the
Canadian Historical Association's (CHA) Historical Papers (1978-82), and Co-
Editor of the CHA?s Historical Booklets series (1982-94). He has also served
on the editorial boards of major archival journals in Canada, the United
States, and Europe.
Terry Cook now teaches on a half-time basis in the Master?s Program in
Archival Studies in the Department of History, University of Manitoba.
