Scotiabank  is  one  of North America’s leading financial institutions, and
Canada’s most international bank.

The  Scotiabank  Group  Archives is an information centre maintained by the
Scotiabank   Group   to   protect,   preserve   &  facilitate  the  use  of
permanent-value  records  in all media. Exercising initiative and judgement
in  responding  to the frequent unusual situations that arise in a research
facility,  the  candidate  should  be  a  team player, with strong research
skills,  and  excellent  oral  and  written  communication  skills,  who is
enrolled in a University Program in Archival Studies, History, or a related
discipline.

This 12 week contract, running from May 30, 2005 to August 19, 2005, is
part of a major project to create a virtual multi-media display
commemorating the staff of Scotiabank Group Companies (Bank of Nova Scotia,
Bank of Ottawa, McLeod Young & Weir, Montreal Trust and subsidiaries,
National Trust and subsidiaries) who served in the major wars of the 20th
century. The goal of the project is to create a web and/or CD ROM based
virtual display.

You will conduct research in a variety of fonds and media types, convert
documents and photographs to digital format, and create a database of
biographical information linked to digital images.

The  contract pays $15.76/hour. The hours of work are Monday to Friday from
8:30 – 5:00.
