My guess is that it might have had an impact on the copyright legislation Congress was contemplating in 1906, when Twain made his appearance at a hearing wearing his blazing white linen suit, creating his own headlines.

Subject: A question for any and all on the forum: Twain and law

Hello all,

Does anyone know if a Mark Twain story/essay/piece ever influenced
(directly or indirectly) public legislation?

Thanks!
