Aretmus Ward is a name that floats around Virginia City like a ghost. I
loved your rendition of the Mt. Davidson climb in the middle of the
night...I don't know if it's true...but I'll tell you this... If anyone
(drunk or not) tried that stunt...He would be a fool. If indeed, as you say,
Sam was sleeping it off by the stove in the basement of the Territorial
Enterprise... HE was the smart guy! I Know! Believe me.
