In reply to forum members who expressed an interest as to who
Mildred Leo Clemens was and her works, here's all that I have
found.

Two works from a library in Hawaii.  One published in 1916.
The other in 1935.  Both carefully detail Twain's travels in the
islands and interviews people whom he met there.  The works
include a photo of Mildred and she is identified by a newspaper
byline as a cousin.  She also publishes a photograph of Twain
memorabilia she states originated from Susan Crane, Twain's
sister-in-law.  There are other numerous photos of sites Twain
visited on the islands and places he stayed.  Mildred claims to
be a native of Connecticut; have done undergraduate work at
the University of California; met with Ina Donna Coolbrith;
lectured around the country; traveled numerous times to the
islands; and has published at least one photo in National
Geographic.  There is one brief mention of a series of articles
that may provide information that the illusive Mr. Brown was an
actual person that Twain traveled with (at least in the islands).

Whether Mildred is only a claimant or a legitimate kin remains
to be discovered. At the time of her last publication she was living
on the West Coast.
