The UBC Winter Session runs from September to April , and is broken up
into two terms, September to December (Fall term), January to April
(Spring term). These courses are each for one term (3 credits) and
tend to enroll about 70 students per course. A teaching assistant does
on average 70% of the grading load. There are normally two 75-minute
lectures per week. We are looking for someone to teach one or both,
in either term, consecutively or simultaneously. There is a good
possibility that for an economist, more sessional teaching in the
economics could be found. One of these courses would be ideal for a
more senior scholar who wishes to spend part of her/his sabbatical in
Vancouver and thus have access to office space and resources. The
courses are cross-listed between Philosophy and Economics and the
appointment requires approval by both departments.
