There seem to me to be a good number of troubling matters in Carol M.
Connell's account of the doings of Matheson etc. To address one of the most
accessible, I find the claim, <<In 1830, as a member of the House of Commons
from Sutherland, James Matheson delivered an address in Parliament>> rather
surprising. Can we be sure it is quite correct?
