Hi Gerry
Thanks for responding.  Irving does write about some legends, but not
all.  Irving writes about people, sometimes satirically, sometimes just
for enjoyment.  He does include some legends as a vehicle for his satire,
but for the most part his satire is good-natured and funny, as opposed to
attack satire.
In any case I'm not an authority on Irving, But I am an admirer.  If you
want to discuss him further, let me know.
I have not been able to find a list on Irving,but not for lack of trying.
