Colleagues,

In his first statement of his “functional finance” doctrine, published in 
the “University Review” (June 1941) [a publication of the then University 
of Kansas City, which subsequently became UMKC], Abba Lerner cites 3 
earlier publications by himself.

One of these is cited as follows: “‘Total Democracy and Full Employment’ 
in Social Change for May 1941 (published by New America at 3929 Ellis 
Avenue, Chicago ...)”. In another note in the same “University Review” 
article Lerner refers to Social Change as a “quarterly journal”.

I cannot seem to find any reference to such a journal/serial in the Libary 
of Congress catalogue. Since Ellis Avenue is the location of the 
University of Chicago, I thought it might be connected to UC. I also could 
not find any reference to such a journal in the UC Library catalogue.

If anyone has any intelligence on this journal/serial (and even better, 
locations for the May 1941 issue of it), I’d much appreciate knowing (to 
the List or directly to me, as you prefer).
