Barbara L. (Bobby) Solow, an economic historian who with her husband, 
Nobel laureate Robert M. Solow, spent many happy summers in Chilmark, 
died Feb. 17 in Lexington.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and a daughter, 
their spouses and eight grandchildren: John Lewis Solow and his wife 
Catherine of Iowa City, Andrew Robert Solow and his wife Margaret of 
Woods Hole, and Katherine Solow and her husband Daniel Duling of Los 
Angeles.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. A full obituary will 
appear in a future edition of the Gazette.
