Grahame Renyk of Toronto's EYE Weekly says,
"In his adaptation of Mark Twain's Is Shakespeare Dead?, Keir Cutler seeks
to debunk the myth that William Shakespeare wrote the plays attributed to
him. Cutler presents Twain's compelling claim as though it were the closing
argument at a trial, weaving humour and logic into an enjoyable feat of
rhetorical sleight of hand that will have even the most devout Stratfordians
reconsidering the authority of their idol. The result is a highly
entertaining and engrossing 45-minute performance."
Keir Cutler has a Ph.D. in theatre from Detroit's Wayne State University.
He is the author/performer of "Teaching Shakespeare: A Parody" and "Teaching
Detroit."
"Teaching Shakespeare: A Parody" won "Best New Play 1998-99" Montreal
English Critics Circle Award, the 1999 Frankie for "Best Text" at the
Montreal Fringe, and the "Excellence Award" at the New York Fringe 2000.
