Dear Shoe list members,

I am very sorry to hear about Peter¢s loss. I vividly
remember the moment when all attendees of the 2011 HETSA
conference turned to him and concentrated on listening
to him when he began to speak. I felt his greatness
and confirmed how much he was respected.

Numerous Jshet members, including previous Presidents
such as Professors Chuhei Sugiyama and Toshihiro Tanaka,
have a strong tie to Australian scholars. Peter is
the symbol of the tie.

May he rest in peace.

Best wishes,

Atsushi Komine
President, the Japanese Society for the History of
Economic Thought (Jshet)
