Is anyone working on the idea of "creative communities"? What is it  
about certain times and places and groups of people that makes some  
communities of scholars generate so many new and good ideas? Are there  
common features between 18th c. salons, Bloomsbury and the Vienna  
Circle, or is each community unique? Are there contemporary versions  
of these communities, and can they be intentionally created?
