Does anyone have information on Hayek's link to EC Riegel (I have been
in contact with Spencer Heath MaCallum who edited Riegel's work and
claimed there was correspondence between them but have not seen it)?

The specific context is how (and whether) Hayek with the
'Denationalisation of Money' came round to Riegel's thinking in his
idea of "Private Enterprise Money". In a footnote of Good Money Part 2
- The Standard (ed. Stephen Kresge) (p.195) there is a disparaging
reference to Riegel (in connection with his correspondence with
Fisher) - I assume the note is from the editor. I am not aware of any
serious critique of Riegel's thinking but would be glad of references.

Another question concerns the comment made by Hayek in the same book
(245-6) that he had in mind a name for an international currency (much
better than a "Solid") but wouldn't name it for trade mark reasons.
Does anyone know more on this name or currency proposal?

with thanks

Arthur Edwards
