Chiefswood is the stately home built by Chief George Henry Martin Johnson
(Chief Onwanosyshon) for his bride, Emily Howells Johnson 150 years ago.
Better known as the childhood home of Emily Pauline Johnson, the native poet
and entertainer, this beautiful house is situated on the east bank of the
Grand River.
