Dear all,

HPPE at LSE has now published its programme for Summer Term 2015 (http://www.lse.ac.uk/economicHistory/seminars/HPPE/home.aspx, tab “Summer 2015”):

Let me bring two specifics of the upcoming term to your attention:

First, instead of the seminar we’re having a full-day workshop on Tuesday, 12 May. The workshop title is “Economists from 1780 to 1980: Observing and configuring the economy”. Details will follow shortly. If you already know that you would like to attend, please register your interest with Maxine Montaigne ([log in to unmask]) or myself ([log in to unmask]).

Second, the seminar is moving from the East Building to 32 Lincoln’s Inn Fields, room 32L.LG.03. Access to the building is regulated. Seminar attendants who are not members of LSE should speak to security at the entrance. Mention that you’re visiting the HPPE seminar and they will let you pass.

About HPPE:

HPPE (Historical and Philosophical Perspectives on Economics) is a bi-weekly research seminar at LSE’s Economic History Department. The seminar usually takes place on Wednesdays from 1-2.30pm at LSE, in room 32L.LG.03. For updates to the programme please visit: http://www.lse.ac.uk/economicHistory/seminars/HPPE/home.aspx, the click on the tab “Summer 2015". The convenors of HPPE are Maxine Montaigne ([log in to unmask]) and Tobias Vogelgsang ([log in to unmask]).

HPPE runs since 2012 and is organised by PhD students. It brings together scholars from different disciplines to discuss the evolution of economic thinking and embraces topics from Ancient Greece to contemporary Africa.

The seminar inquires how the theory and practice of economics changes with the historical and philosophical context. The seminar aims to provide scholars at any stage of their career with an opportunity to discuss their work with a critical audience. For further information, please contact the convenors.
