I am putting out a last call for papers as I have not had much of a response. While the conference's theme is The Spectacular City, ALL proposals on Mark Twain, his life, his writing, and his lectures are welcome.

-----------------------------------------------------

SCMLA 73rd ANNUAL CONFERENCE
November 3 - 5, 2016

Sheraton Dallas Hotel * 400 North Olive Street * Dallas, TX 75201

The Spectacular City: Glamour, Decadence, and Celebrity in Literature and Culture
-----------------------------------------------------

On a side note, is the study of Mark Twain a dying discipline? I certainly hope not. I have had such a lack of interest in this Mark Twain session at the conference that it leads me to wonder. Or, is the problem the conference theme? Please submit ANY PAPER OR PROPOSAL for this conference to show me that there are still Twainiacs out there!

Send your paper, proposal, or abstract to: [log in to unmask] or Carolyn L. Richey, Dept. of English and Languages, Box T-0300, Tarleton State University, Stephenville, Texas. 76402
