Dear Twain Scholars,
On the weekend of October 7-8, 2016, the Elmira College Center for Mark
Twain Studies will be hosting the first Quarry Farm Weekend Symposium. The
theme of this gathering is "Twain and Youth," honoring the forthcoming
book *Mark
Twain and Youth: Studies in His Life and Writing* (edited by Kevin
MacDonnell and Kent Rasmussen). All proceeds of this book will go directly
to the four Twain Centers.
The keynote speaker is Jon Clinch, author of *Finn*, the secret history of
Huck Finn's father, *Kings of the Earth*, and *The Thief of Auschwitz*.
The registration fee of $150 includes dinner and drinks on Friday, all
three meals on Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday. Please note that all
events will take place at Quarry Farm. The October weather and the Fall
season should make for a beautiful setting for scholarly discussion,
camaraderie, and picturesque views.
I have attached the official flyer with all of the symposium information to
this message.
Please contact [log in to unmask] or [log in to unmask] if you wish to
register or if you have any questions.
Take care,
Joe Lemak
