Sorry if this sounds trivial, but it's quite important to me.

In the copy of _Roughing It_ that I am scanning and editing for an etext
version, the name of Sam's companion in the silver-mining episode is
spelt 'Clagett' near the beginning of Chapter 27 and 'Clagget' near the
end of Chapter 29.  Is this a printer's error in my edition (Penguin
Classic) or a Twain inconsistency?

If the former, I'd be grateful if someone could confirm the correct
spelling.
