AREA OF SEARCH:	 Open

Archives of Ontario offers an exciting opportunity to work as part of the
Collections Management team as an Assistant Archivist. Under guidance of the
Senior Coordinator, you will assist in: accessioning, arrangement,
description, preservation/providing access to Archives' records. Implement
archival arrangement, create preliminary descriptions using
RAD/institutional standards, list/cull records, integrate documents to
record-keeping systems/prepare materials for archival storage/reformatting.
Software includes word-processing/spreadsheets/databases/internet.

QUALIFICATIONS:   Basic knowledge of: archival principles/practices for
archival functions/processes, Rules for Archival Description,
legislation/practices governing access to records (FIPPA, Copyright Act);
demonstrated ability using relevant desktop software/databases; basic
knowledge of recorded information principles/preservation practices for
records; good oral/written communication/analytical skills; accuracy/
attention to detail.
