I'm working on a paper on Mark Twain and the white minstrel Polk
Miller, who played with a black group, The Old South Quartet. I would be
interested in anything anybody has on Twain and the minstrelry. In Polk
Miller and the group too. I have an uncited reference to MT's calling two
of their pieces "magestic earthquakes," and would like to pin that down --
especially which performances.

Nickels, Cameron C
