N.B. I am posting this query on behalf Amy Arif. Please respond to her
e-mail address listed at the end of this message. K.B.
~~~~~
I am writing to you on behalf of the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in
Berlin, a division of the Kulturveranstaltungen des Bundes in Berlin
(KBB GmbH), and I am hoping you can help me with the following issue:
We are searching for a (certified) German translation of Mark Twain's
essay "The Noble Red Man" which was published in Galaxy Magazine in
1870 and is available in English on your website.
Part of the text is integrated into one of the artworks on display in
our current exhibition On Rage at the Haus. The work is called
Building A Nation and was created by Jimmie Durham, a renown
Australian-American artist. Since the quote is in English and the
majority of our audience are German speakers, we would like to give
handouts with a German translation of the text.
If you do not have a German copy of the text, I would still highly
appreciate it if you could point me to the right direction as to find
out whether at all the essay was ever translated.
Thank you in advance for your time and effort, and I hope to hear
from you soon.
Best,
Amy Arif
