Folks; I may have circulated this little article a couple years ago when it appeared, about the Horace Bixby house in Lafayette Square, about a mile north of my home in STL. If not, here it is; if I did, swallow hard and move on in another direction... But it circled back to my attention today due to other issues: Anyway, the exact address is 1532 Mississippi Ave., which oddly is never mentioned in the article. Worth a look, if you are ever streaming through the Lou. PS: Lafayette Square is itself fascinating, being considered by some to feature the finest Victorian-style architecture of any old neighborhood in the country; and also perhaps the first of its type west of the Mississippi (just a mile or 2 west, but west nonetheless...). http://www.stltoday.com/news/local/metro/st-louis-riverboat-pilot-friend-of-twain-brought-to-life/article_27a5e745-4fc9-515e-908c-49667e588e65.html [https://bloximages.newyork1.vip.townnews.com/stltoday.com/content/tncms/assets/v3/editorial/a/8b/a8beaa0f-8e77-5674-92aa-80d17b7c8593/5748f3faf14a8.image.jpg?crop=1763%2C992%2C0%2C91&resize=1120%2C630&order=crop%2Cresize]<http://www.stltoday.com/news/local/metro/st-louis-riverboat-pilot-friend-of-twain-brought-to-life/article_27a5e745-4fc9-515e-908c-49667e588e65.html> St. Louis riverboat pilot, friend of Twain, brought to ...<http://www.stltoday.com/news/local/metro/st-louis-riverboat-pilot-friend-of-twain-brought-to-life/article_27a5e745-4fc9-515e-908c-49667e588e65.html> www.stltoday.com Horace Bixby, friend of Mark Twain, was buried without a headstone.
