2 Temporary Assignments for 5 months - Special Project
TITLE: Conservation Technician - Treatments (2)
MINISTRY: Government Services
SALARY RANGE: $750 - $841/ weekly
POSTING DATE: 7 October 2005
CLOSING DATE: 24 October 2005
LOCATION: Toronto
AREA OF SEARCH: OPEN
Exciting opportunities exist with the Archives of Ontario to work in a team
environment as special project conservation technicians. You will: undertake
conservation treatments on photographs, documentary art,
cartographic/textual records; prepare motion picture film for
reformatting/document conditions before and after treatment.
QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of conservation, preservation management, archival
practices, chemical/physical properties of archival materials, historical
fabrication; experience creating written/photographic documentation, using
technical equipment (humidity chamber, encapsulator, pH meter); PC/software
proficiency; familiarity with WHMIS; good interpersonal, communication
skills; knowledge of the Canadian Association for Conservation of Cultural
Property's code of ethics.
