Call for Papers 
Papers in any area of economics and philosophy are welcome. There will be 
three different session lengths at the conference: 1 hour, 45 minutes, or 30 
minutes. It is envisaged that the presentation of papers will take up just 
over half of each session and the rest of the session will be for 
discussion. So, for example a one hour session will comprise approximately a 
35 minute presentation followed by 25 minutes of discussion. Panel sessions 
may also be arranged. 
 
To have a paper considered for the conference: 
 
1. You must be a member of IEPS (A once only joining fee of $30 - see 
registration form). 
 
2. Submit an abstract of the paper (minimum length for the abstract is 500 
words - approximately 2 pages) by July 18, 1997. Late submissions will 
only be considered if there is space available. People who wish to have 
their submission refereed by a fast-track process may submit their 
abstracts at anytime before July 18 (this is particularly intended for 
overseas visitors who may wish to have more time to plan their trips). 
 
3. The abstract must be submitted in the body of an e-mail in plain text to 
[log in to unmask] Abstracts may also be submitted in printed form to the 
address below. 
 
4. You must include the following with the abstract: 
a. The title of your paper. 
b. Your name. 
c. Your institutional affiliation including your address. 
d. Your email address. 
e. Your preferred session length, and also the minimum session possible for 
you to present your paper if your preferred session length is unavailable. 
 
Conference Registration 
The conference registration fee is $90 ($55 for students/unemployed). There 
will be a Conference Dinner on Friday night. Prices are in Australian 
dollars. (AUD$1 = US$0.78, so the conference fee is approximately US$70). 
There is a registration form at the end of this email. 
 
Accommodation Bed and breakfast at AUD$38/night (approx. US$29) will be 
available at Basser College, Kensington Colleges, University of New South 
Wales. You must book your accommodation directly with the College. For

The International Economics and Philosophy Society was formed in 1994 to 
promote collaboration and exchange between scholars interested in economics 
and philosophy. The main activities of the Society are (a) regular meetings 
with the American Philosophical Association and the American Economic 
Association; (b) annual conferences; (c) the provision of current 
information, through an Internet forum, on research opportunities, 
conferences, and publications in the area of economics and philosophy, and 
(d) the facilitation of communication between members with similar interests 
through Society circulation of their current research activities. 
 
The joining fee for IEPS is a one off payment of US$20. There is no formal
