Jean Dhombres, a mathematician and historian of mathematics (he has
edited Laplace's lectures at Ecole normale) writes that Saint Simon
criticized Laplace in Histoire de l'Homme, 1809-1811.

Dhombres' presentation of Saint-Simon's case against Laplace is
related to some Hayek's topics about social order.
Moreover the dates fit pretty well you calendar, aren't they?
I have not Saint-Simon's book at hand and I should visit a library to
morrow if noboby has a better reference till then.
regards
