The argument that X does not exist because author Y does not quote it is faulty logic.  By carefully choosing Y, one can prove or disprove any X, or non-X, whatsoever. It would be much more helpful instead trying to read the original literature.  I do not find in any way beneficial cherry-picking the facts, looking only for confirmations of things one believes in however unlikely they are, ignoring the evidence, and using the history of though as an instrument to support political positions or the hatred towards this or that writer of the past.
