Pope John Paul II endorsed the market economy--which he preferred to term the   
"free economy"--in Centesimus Annus.  
  
I guess you could technically say that the Church per se does not endorse an  
economic system; however, papal encyclicals are the main documents that form t  
he Church's social doctrine.
