A friend sent me this message and I'm drawing a blank (I just got back from trick-or-treating and my stomach hurts). Perhaps this has something to do with Laurence Hutton? Or some other Larry? Is there a Twain character named Larry?
Does this ring any bells for anyone? Any clues would be much appreciated.
a 1928 H.L. Mencken note in which he refers to Mark Twain writing "most of the Larry monologue." Any clue what this reference might be? He also refers to a "man in Boston saying that he was preparing to bring out a collection of the Larry stuff."
