Am I mistaken in thinking that there was a recording made
of Twain's voice? I know there was a short movie.
He would certainly have been intrigued by recording,
right? Did he know the work of Cal Stewart's "Uncle Josh"?
I do know he was familiar with the "coon songs" of Polk
Miller, whom he once introduced on stage in Ohio.
As for _Mysterious Stranger_, does anybody teach that
anymore in a Twain class? What does one teach for the later
mood?
