In November 2009 the AAO Board approved a recommendation to retire the
recording thermohygrograph units, used for the past 15-20 years in the
Thermohygrograph Loan Program and to replace them with new data loggers for
temperature and relative humidity monitoring.
Over the next couple of months data loggers will be purchased and the AAO
Preservation Consultant will prepare administrative forms and instruction
sheets for the new Environmental Loan Program and train on use of the
loggers and the software program used to download data and generate reports.
This program will be similar to the old one and loans will still be
complementary for AAO Institutional Members. Further details and a start
date for the new Environmental Monitor Loan Program will be announced as
they are worked out.
The Preservation Consultant will be recalling all thermohygrographs
currently out on loan. Some units will be made available to any member of
the AAO on a first come basis, in exchange for a donation to the AAO or to
the Shirley Spragg Fund of AAO plus cost of shipping . Recipients of a
thermohygrograph will be responsible for arranging pick up or shipping.

thermohygrographs please contact Iona McCraith at [log in to unmask]
