Given the proximity of Twain's centennial, and the fact that April is 
poetry month, perhaps Twain's "In Memoriam" to Susy Clemens (which 
first appeared in the Nov 1897 Harper's Monthly under his initials SLC, 
and later appears in versions of "How to Tell a Story and Other 
Essays").

It is his most sincere attempt at verse.
