Following up some more on Sam's first trip to New Orleans that Scott is
documenting:
(Thanks, Miki, for your clarification regarding the reference you provided.)
1) Does anyone have any insight as to the identity of Ward- who Sam
mentioned accompanying to South America?
2) Has anyone done research on the steamboats that Sam worked on,  similar
to what Scott is doing regarding Sam/MT's train trips? Most importantly,
Re: the Pennsylvania:
     a) Details of Sam first coming on board the Pennsylvania.
     b) Details re: the Vicksburg ramming the Pennsylvania while Sam was on
duty.
3) Could anyone help with documentation of:
   a. Who owned the Pennsylvania?
   b. Where was the Pennsylvania built?
