The History of Economic Thought Society of Australia (HETSA) will convene its 17th
Conference in Perth (Australia) from:
 
        6 to 9 July 2004; at 
        The University of Western Australia. 
 
HETSA encourages interested scholars to consider participating in the conference
proceedings.  The "call for papers" (as well as information on the conference format,
venue, accommodation and registration) is available from the Conference web-page:
http://hetsa.biz.uwa.edu.au  
 
Conference sessions will be organized according to historical periods and themes once
abstracts have been reviewed, although, based on early expressions of interest, we are
hopeful of convening a special session on "Women and
Feminism in the History of Economic Thought". 
 
The distinguished guest presenter for the 17th Conference will be Professor Warren J
Samuels, who has kindly agreed to talk on "aspects of the use of the concept of the
invisible hand".
