Terry Thompson, General Synod Archivist for the Anglican Church of
Canada since 1979, has accepted a new position as Assistant Director,
Archives and Special Collections in Information Resources at the
University of Calgary, starting August 18,2003.
In a notice to staff, General Secretary Jim Boyles states " Terry has
shared her many gifts with the General Synod over the last 24 years and
our archives stands as a most positive model due to her hard work and
complete dedication to its development."
In her new position as Assistant Director, Archives and Special
Collections, Terry will be in charge of a number of units whose focus is
primary collections. These are: Special Collections, University
Archives, the Canadian Architectural Archives and the Library/Archives
of the Museum of the Regiments.
Terry's colleagues congratulate her on this new challenge and are
grateful for her leadership service to both Toronto's and the wider
Canadian archival community.
