SCOTIABANK GROUP ARCHIVES
DISPLAY PROGRAM
SCOTIA PLAZA — 44 KING LOBBY
The Scotiabank Group Archives invites you to view "Happy 250th Birthday
Halifax ... From Scotiabank, A Halifax Institution Since 1832".
Halifax, which turns 250 years old in 1999, is the birthplace of
Scotiabank. Founded in 1832 as a local colonial bank, Scotiabank has in the
intervening years become Canada's most international bank. However, we have
not forgotten our Halifax roots: almost all of our Annual Meetings have
been held in Halifax, and Halifax continues to serve as the Bank's
headquarters for the nearly 200 branches in the Atlantic Region.
Designed and prepared by the staff of the Archives, the display focuses on
the Scotiabank staff and buildings that enrich the heritage of Halifax and
its neighbour Dartmouth (which turns 250 in 2000). The display will be on
view in the lobby of 44 King Street West until mid July.
