Dear Colleagues,

I believe it has not been shared on this list that Prof. Barbara Bergmann, pioneer of the feminist economics, has died on the 5th of April. For the obituaries, please see the New York Times:

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/04/12/business/barbara-bergmann-trailblazer-for-study-of-gender-in-economics-is-dead-at-87.html

and The Washington Post:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/obituaries/barbara-bergmann-leader-in-gender-based-economics-dies-at-87/2015/04/13/73f29c22-e0c3-11e4-a500-1c5bb1d8ff6a_story.html<http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/obituaries/barbara-bergmann-leader-in-gender-based-economics-dies-at-87/2015/04/13/73f29c22-e0c3-11e4-a500-1c5bb1d8ff6a_story.html?utm_source=SASE+Spring+Newsletter+2015&utm_campaign=SASE+Fall+Newsletter+2014&utm_medium=email>

Her professional and academic career is a vivid reminder of the progress made and of the difficulties faced by women economists throughout the twentieth century.

Kind regards,

Pedro Teixeira
