I should like to add that Opie was in touch both with Keynes (at Bretton
Woods: see Moggridge, "JMK. An economist's biography", 732 and ff.) and 
Schumpeter. Indeed, he may be considered as a disciple of the latter (see
the correspondence quoted by Stolper, "JAS. The public life of a private
man", 197 and 297). This connection seems to me very intriguing.
