Dear colleagues,

The Queen's University Archives is posting for an Archives Processing Technician (1-year).

Applying knowledge of archival processing techniques, and following established policies, procedures, and standards the Processing Technician works with the Archivists and Conservator to inventory, process, clean, apply minor conservation and preservation measures, shelve, research, and provide access to archival collections.

The Processing Technician will assist in creating and maintaining documentation concerning the processing of archives and train archival assistants, summer students, interns, and new staff in same. Exercise discretion and confidentiality and operate in accordance with relevant provincial and federal legislation. The incumbent may be required to perform customer service duties in the Reading Room, including monitoring and retrieval services to the customers and clients of the Archives.

The position is primarily located at the Archives in Kathleen Ryan Hall but may be asked to perform archival processing duties at other locations as required (e.g., West Campus Storage processing area, etc.).

The Archives Processing Technician is a member of CUPE Local 1302 Support Staff and is rated as a Library Technician 4.  The salary range for the position is $49,483.00 - $56,836.00/Year.
