----------------- HES POSTING -----------------
For those of you who, like myself, have never managed to learn how to
create a web page, there is a new service available that allows you to
create a free web site for your courses. This service, classpage.com,
makes it simple to put syllabi, handouts, etc. on the web. You just
electronically transmit the documents to classpage.com, and they take care
of the rest. No messing around with html coding or any of that. It is a
simple as a few mouse clicks. And if you use web-based references in your
courses (such as to on-line text sites), they will automatically create
the links for you if the web addresses are on the materials that you
provide to them.
classpage.com is a free service. The company makes its money through
advertising and through an arrangement with an on-line text seller from
which the students can purchase their books for the course if they so
desire. Students in your class have the option of electing not to receive
email advertisements.
So, if you are interested in getting your course materials up on the web
and do not have the time or inclination to learn how do creat your own web
page, you might want to check this out.

[NOTE: Regardless of how you put your course materials on the web,
we would like to know the URL so that we can provide a link from the
HES syllabi file! -- RBE]
