Hello everyone,

I wanted to provide an update on a few items:

Dempsey Store

There was a public meeting in North York on Thursday that was well attended
by the community.  It was a tense situation with a fair bit of planted
comments from the Learning Centre group.  The Dempsey family was in
attendance and there was support for the public use of the building and a
community archives.  The issue goes to the administration committee on
Tuesday July 11 and if anyone could consider emailing or faxing the
committee members or even to attend the meeting as a speaker to support the
AAO, would be tremendous.  I will be giving a final push for our use of the
space at this meeting.  The meeting begins at 9:30 and deputations start at
ten.  For a list of the councillors on the committee or to arrange to speek
at tuesdays meeting, please visit the city of toronto's web site.  If you

Office Space

In light of the Dempsey Store problems, I have been exploring commerical
space in the city of Toronto.  I will be posting a list of office needs to
the listserve next week and if your office has any extra office furniture,
desks, chairs, bookshelves, please let me know.

Bookkeeper

I have been trying to hire a bookkeeper but am having difficulty finding
one I can afford.  I can afford to pay 16.00 per hour, one day a week.  I
am looking for someone to post to the GL, process accounts payable, bank
reconcilliations and to bring the books to the month end.  If you happen to
know someone who would be willing to do this, please have them contact my
office.  I would like someone to work in the office and not have to courier
it away to anyone.  Thanks for the assistance.

Contact Information

As you may recall, My old computer has died with some bits of information
on it.  Could the chapter presidents and SIGs, send me there contact
information and executive lists.  I need this soon.


Institutional Membership Payments

The membership payment deadline has been extended to July 30, as outlined
in the memo that was sent with the renewal notice.  Just send it as soon as
you can if it will be late as in well past  the deadline, please contact
the office.

Office closures

I was supposed to be on holiday this coming week however, due to changes in
my husbands work schedule, I will be working this week and will be taking
vacation later this summer.


Conference Refunds

I will be processing these soon and thanks for patience to those who
require them.
