Mary says, "But suppose the high savings rate gets used to fund, oh, 
say, vacation houses at the beach? Or yet another strip mall? Or to 
gut a steelmill rather than replace the outdated machinery?..." 
Now, we're doing economics, or I should say political economics! 
All those fancy mathematical models don't help us predict what social, 
psychological factors influence what's behind "savings", "investment", etc.
