The 1996 conference of the WORLD HISTORY ASSOCIATION will 
be held at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, 
June 21-23, 1996. Pomona is in the greater Los Angeles 
area. 
 
The major theme of the conference is "Science and 
Technology in World History." The conference aims at the 
examination of the role and nature of technology and its 
social, political, economic and ethical impact on the 
world from antiquity to present. 
 
Proposals for papers, presentations, panels on these and 
related topics, as well as on issues pertaining to the 
teaching of world history are welcome. 
 
The deadline for submission of proposals is January 29, 1996.
