INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP IN POST KEYNESIAN ECONOMICS
UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE

June 27 - July 3, 1996

Plans are underway for a Workshop to be held in Knoxville,
Tennessee to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the publication of
the General Theory and to acknowledge the 50th Anniversary of the
death of John Maynard Keynes. As in previous years, the Workshop
consists of 6 days intensive seminars on a variety of subjects
related to Post Keynesian economic research. Advanced graduate
students and young professors are particularly welcomed, as are
others interested in the policy implications of Post Keynesian
study. Some of the topics expected to be covered include:

Is an independent central bank necessary or desirable?
Do we need government regulation of domestic and international
financial markets?
How can Keynes' principles be utilized to develop policies to
develop a smooth transition from a centrally planned to a market
economy?

What should be the US policy towards current account balances?
Is it possible to achieve full employment without inflation in an
entrepreneurial economy?
Should the federal government pursue a balanced fiscal budget
annually or over the cycle?

presenting a paper please contact,
