Irving Fisher's papers survive in vast quantity in the Manuscripts and
Archives section of the Sterling Memorial Library at Yale University, New
Haven, CT, and are the property of Yale University, to which Fisher
bequeathed them. These papers are made use of extensively in the
thirteen-volume edition of Fisher's selected economic writings which will
be published by Pickering and Chatto in 1997. William J. Barber of
Wesleyan University is the general editor of the Fisher edition, and is
also the editor of most of the individual volumes. James Tobin and I are
each editing a volume in the set.
