A brief account of the history of the Social Science Research Council
is available at http://www.ssrc.org/histbri.htm

The SSRC has also announced that its archives, which have long been
inaccessible to scholars, are now open for research at the Rockefeller
Archive Center (RAC) in Pocantico Hills, New York. These materials, which
date back to 1924, contain records of the governing bodies of the SSRC,
staff-written memoranda and correspondence, committee and working group
documents, fellowships and grants materials, and other files. For
information on how to contact/use the archives, consult:
http://www.ssrc.org/archives.htm
