Hi, maybe you may see in a paper by me with F. Guala in Hope (2001),
but Ivan Moscati wrote some papers on the early fundations of choice
theory. Also in a EJ paper with R. Sugden (the road not take, 2007) we
discussed some issues related to preferences and choice at the end of
