Among the Resident Fellows of the Dibner Institute for the History of
Science and Technology in Cambridge Massachuesetts for the 1996-97 year
are the following people whose projects may be of interest to historians
of economics:

Herbert Mehrtens, Professsor of Modern History, Technische Universitaet
Braunschweig -- an investigation of how the modernization of
mathematics connects to symbolic techniques that were deployed across a
broad "mathematical culture" which includes the natural and social
sciences.

Terry Shinn, Directeur de Recherche, Centre National de Recherche
Scientifique, Paris -- continuation of work on "The Rise of the American
Research-Technology Community, 1920-1950."

George Stocking, Jr., Distinguished Professor of Anthropology and
Conceptual Foundations of Science, University of Chicago -- the history of
anthropology between World War II and the late 1960s.

I will be posting more information on the Dibner Fellows programs soon.
