According to Canada's Copyright Act, paintings, drawings, photographs,
maps, and architectural plans all fall into the category of 'artistic
works', but they are not all subject to the same rules. Anyone who
creates, preserves, or uses still images of any sort must understand the
impact of copyright law on their preservation and copying and
transmitting them to users.Through lecture, examples, discussion,
handouts and case studies, this one-day course will present the
copyright rules that apply specifically to all types of 'artistic works'
and the application of the rules within the overall context of the
Canadian Copyright Act.
